Abstract
This thesis deals with the development of a collaborative system for inventory identification and management in the manufacturing environment. Accordingly, the solution proposed incorporates advanced technologies like RFID readers and camera systems to provide redundancy in data capture and verification to reliably identify and register tags within a warehouse or yard environment, but most importantly, the low and reduced cost of the development of a fully functional system. Remote control capabilities are also fitted onto the device to improve operational efficiency and safety through the reduction of personnel exposure to hazardous situations. A cloud-based data management system is also put in place for secure storage and management of the collected data, allowing real-time access to authorized entities for decision-making support. And finally, this work seeks an improvement in material logistics and storage location management and monitoring with the help of Digitization of the process, providing parametric availability for a run simulation. By means of additive manufacturing and robust electronic and mechanical design, we can optimize in manufacturing operation and logistics.
